Imagine hiking up Masada as the sun rises over the mountains of Jordan, and floating at ease on the Dead Sea. See yourself crossing the Sea of Galilee on a first century style wooden boat and then sleeping under the stars in the desert. Can you picture yourself rafting down the Jordan River? Day 1

Arrive in Israel

And transfer to your hotel + free time. Overnight in Netanya.

Day 2

Jezreel Valley and Central Coast

Begin your journey to the northern region of Israel by stopping at the ancient coastal city of Caesarea where Peter first presented the Gospel to the Gentiles. Gain new insight into Biblical prophecy as you continue through the Jezreel Valley to Mount Carmel where Elijah called down fire from heaven. Spend your afternoon serving on the beaches of the Sea of Galilee and enjoy a boat ride where Jesus walked on water and calmed the storm. Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 3-5

Galilee Region

Climb to the top of Mount Arbel and take in the breathtaking views of the Galilee region and the Sea of Galilee. Gather on the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Take a walk through the 2000 year old town of Capernaum. Kayak down the Jordan River, the famous river where the Israelites crossed into their Promised Land. Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 6

Lower Jordan Valley River

Tour the ancient Roman ruins of Bet Shean as you learn little-known facts about its fortress and walled city. Swim in natural springs at Gan HaShlosha. Ride a camel to your overnight location in the Judean Desert and enjoy the stars as you camp out Bedouin-style!

Day 7

Judean Wilderness

Surround yourself in the breathtaking views of the Judean wilderness after you hike up the famous fortress, Masada. Journey into Ein Gedi, the rocky refuge where King David penned the Psalms. Conclude your day by relaxing in the mineral rich waters of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Visit the Jordan River baptismal site, Qasr Al-Yehud, where it is believed that John the Baptist immersed Jesus at the beginning of His ministry. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Days
8–10

Jerusalem and The Old City

Welcome to Jerusalem! While you are here, you will walk the golden streets of the Old City, leave your prayers at the holiest site in Judaism, the Western Wall, and tour through the City of David and Hezekiah’s Tunnels, where urban Jerusalem began.

Enjoy the panoramic view of the Holy City from the Mount of Olives, visit the Garden of Gethsemane, and see where the stone was rolled away as you take part in communion at the Garden Tomb. Never forget! Pause to remember and learn from the past at the Yad VaShem Museum. Overnights in Jerusalem.

Your safety is our top priority! The 2024 Jerusalem Encounter itinerary is built with security in mind, and extra measures are in place for the safety of all participants. Israeli tourist sites and hotels are open and welcoming visitors, and the groups will remain exclusively in those open areas. Groups will not be visiting the far north, the West Bank or Gaza. Armed security will be included on each bus for additional precaution. We encourage participants to use awareness and discretion as they normally would when traveling to another city or country.

Deposits & Payments

  • *The non-refundable deposit amount is to be submitted per person at the time of registration to reserve space.
  • Deposits due upon registration and are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Hotel Accommodations

Accommodations are provided on the basis of two persons sharing a twin-bedded room with a private bath, in the hotels selected for the tour. FIRM and its sub-agents reserve the right to substitute hotels of the same category when necessary for the proper handling of the tour. SINGLE ROOM: A limited number of single rooms may be available at an additional cost. Distributions of these rooms will be considered by the FIRM staff on a case-by-case basis. Please contact FIRM at [email protected] for more information. SHARED ROOM: If a single person is traveling alone FIRM will make every effort to provide him/her with a roommate if one is desired.
